The Illinois Council of Teachers of Mathematics sponsors a grade school math contest for grades 3-8.  Participating schools are sent three sets of contests to be taken in December, February, and April.  Each set of contests consists of an eight-question (20 minute) individual test and a twenty-question (25 minute), five-person team test.  A school's score is based on the top ten individual scores and the top two team scores.  The results are mailed to ICTM, who compiles the scores and posts them on its website.  GJHS has competed in this competition since the 2007-08 school year.  Mrs. Corbus (8th), Mrs. McGuire (7th), and Mrs. Bauer (6th) are the GJHS Math Team sponsors.
