Language Arts Teachers:

Mrs. Pruitt's 7th grade language arts classes got a special treat in class this fall.  School counselor, Mrs. Mesnard, spoke to the classes to share her experiences and knowledge from assisting her father on an Honor Flight.  Mrs. Pruitt's classes wrote letters to local Honor Flight veterans who are departing from Springfield for Washington, D.C., on September 24.  Photos from the presentation are on the left.

Language Arts has a new focus on writing!   Pictured on the right are some of Mrs. Hemker's students during a writing workshop during the 2018-19 school year and the start of 8th grade book brochures!  We want to recognize students and teachers for their commitment to improving writing in the district - you're doing a fantastic job!

Students work hard throughout the year to achieve their Accelerated Reader points.  During 7th hour each day, students have time to read the AR books.  To find new books, check with your language arts teacher or Mrs. Hartley, or visit the library website HERE!

Mrs. Hemker's language arts classes completed genre projects during the 2018-19 school year.  Each group created a poster describing its assigned genre.  Great job, everyone!
