D. PSAT/NMSQT (Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test)

The PSAT/NMSQT serves as both a practice SAT and the qualifying exam for the National Merit Scholarship Program. Students with top scores may qualify for recognition and scholarships.
African American students may also become eligible for awards through the National Achievement Program.
The PSAT/NMSQT is a multiple-choice test that measures reading, writing, and math skills important for college success. It is recommended for juniors but not required for college admission.
