Pre-K Connections
The Bond County Schools support families with children 0 – 5 through Pre-K Connections which includes Project Parenting and the Kindergarten Readiness Program (KRP). These programs are funded by the Illinois State Board of Education through the Early Childhood Block Grant and are offered at no cost to parents.
Project ParentingProject Parenting is an education and support program for families with young children from prenatal to pre-kindergarten age. We recognize that parents provide children’s first and most important learning environment and are their first and most significant teachers.
The goal of Project Parenting is to strengthen and support the ability of all parents to provide the best possible environment for the healthy growth and development of their children. Project Parenting includes home visits, play groups, parenting resources and group connections. |
Kindergarten Readiness Program (KRP)KRP is a high quality, free preschool program for children ages 3 -5 who are not age-eligible for kindergarten. Classrooms are available in Greenville, Mulberry Grove, Pocahontas, and Sorento. Our classes meet everyday either 8 – 11 a.m. or 12 – 3 p.m. We also offer full day programs at some locations. We follow the regular school calendar of the center that your child attends. KRP provides an environment that promotes the child’s emotional, physical, mental, and social well-being. Children learn through play and other appropriate informal learning situations. A more natural yet carefully designed environment is used where children can interact in small and large groups while teachers provide opportunities in which to learn. KRP includes developmental screenings, breakfast or lunch, bussing and family events.
